About Iris

Meet the Iris Care Team

Welcome to Iris, from the Iris Care Team. To hear a bit about who we are and what we can help with, listen to our Care Team message from Dr. Andrew Norden.

The Iris Care Team is a group of cancer experts united in our mission to improve the quality of life and care for people who have been affected by a cancer diagnosis.

Answers and Advice You Can Trust

When you have cancer, you don’t need general advice. You want specialized support from people and professionals who understand how your life is changing.

We’re focused on the physical, mental, and emotional impacts of cancer care and our credentials guide our approach.

Oncology Nurses

When you call or message a nurse at Iris, you’re speaking with registered nurses who have training, certification, and experience in caring for patients living with all stages and types of cancer.

Our nurses collaborate with oncology nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and oncologists to deliver the highest quality care to Iris patients. Based on your cancer, treatment, and preferences, the nursing team will reach out proactively to offer you support.

Oncology Mental Health Therapists

Iris mental health therapists are licensed counselors who have specialized training in helping people and families cope with the emotional aspects of cancer. Their expertise can help you identify and develop coping skills to navigate the life changes and emotions that come with a cancer diagnosis.

Virtual visits are easily scheduled through Iris and in-app messaging is available between visits.

Oncology Registered Dietitian Nutritionists

Our team of registered dietitians and licensed nutritionists specializes in supporting individuals facing various types of cancer. We provide compassionate and personalized care based on your food preferences and needs. You can schedule one-on-one visits or participate in our live or on-demand nutrition virtual events.

Peer Mentors

Sometimes what you need most is to hear from someone who has been in your shoes. Iris Peer Mentors are people who have been on their own cancer experience and want to share their stories to help you with yours.

You can browse their profiles and match with one you feel most connected to based on their story, interests, and experience.

Questions the Iris Care Team typically answer include:

  • Do I need to change my diet during treatment?

  • How can I talk to my kids about cancer?

  • Why am I so tired and what can I do about it?

  • Where can I find people who are on the other side of cancer?

These are a great place to start, but you don’t have to have a question to use Iris. An informal chat or get-to-know-you call with a peer mentor might just be the highlight of your day — you can access your peer mentor, or select one if you haven't already, from your Home Screen.

If you do have a question now, we're here for you anytime, any day.

I'm Andrew Norden, Chief Medical Officer of Iris. Our oncology nursing team is available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you have a symptom or concern — maybe you aren't sure how serious it is — feel free to chat or call anytime. An experienced oncology nurse is always available to help and has evidence-based care plans ready to personalize to you. Your oncologist leads your care, we're here for the moments in between.
